When I
created GiveCDs, I just reviewed my own music -- bands and musicians who
appeal to my particular, discriminating taste. A musical taste which,
though, is adequate enough for me, may not be the same as other people's.
I know it's not the same as my teenage daughter's tastes. I
didn't want to just limit limit GiveCDs to music that I like; I wanted to be
a little more inclusive than that. On the other hand, I also wanted to
preserve the personal touch, so I decided that I would put all the other
excellent music that I'm sent and review here, under Potpourri. You
might even like it more that the music that's categorized on the other parts
of this website. Just keep in mind that music is like anything and
everything else in life including wine, food, travel, boy and girlfriends,
movies and books: You just have to try out different ones to find what
you like.
