GiveCDs.com is a website dedicated to the proposition that the best way to introduce people to new music is to give them new music. GiveCDs.com contains reviews of and suggestions for the best new music you never heard of, to give to your friends and family. (Or for yourself for that matter.)Why give music as a gift? For one thing if you're invited to somebody's house for dinner, a CD makes a much nicer, more thoughtful and more memorable gift than, say, a bottle of wine. A bottle of wine is either going to be put away for months or years or quickly consumed. (Or spilled on a white rug.) But a CD...well if you've introduced your friends and family to a new musician whom they like, you've given them a gift that will last forever. Giving music also helps support and promote independent musicians (indie musicians are primarily the ones who are reviewed here), which helps bring good music to the world. Giving a CD is fun, and a nice surprise.
